That Prints, Plaids, Patterns And Plains LIfe, How To Live It!

Prints, Plaids, Patterns And Plains; are fashion pieces we love and can never do without but there are so much to know when doing this because pairing them or trying to make them work can be quite risky and difficult sometimes. There are a lot of rules out there about how to mix prints, but they're usually outdated and more focused on what "doesn't" work than what does. In other words, they're total bullshit. Take plaids and stripes for example. It's often said that plaids and stripes do not mix, but really stripes go with everything, including plaids. In fact, prints are pretty mixable across the board. You just want to keep these four tips in mind when pairing those:

1. Match colours, not prints. If the colours look good together, more often than not the prints will look good together too. If you're not sure which colours go best together, then a colour wheel comes handy once more to help you out, but it's really a matter of personal preference. That said, you'll never go wrong with black and white, they go with everything!

 2. The Simpler And More Graphic The Prints, The Easier They Are To Mix:This is why stripes, especially black and white stripes, go with everything. They're so simple, they're pretty much the neutral of prints. Graphic prints go great with each other and with more complex or organic prints like florals or animal prints. These more complicated prints can also look nice together, but it's not as easy to pull off. Colour and scale become more important, so it can get frustrating if you're not totally comfortable with the idea of print-mixing to begin with.

3. Spread Your Prints Out Across Your Outfit:It's not that you can't wear a printed jacket over a printed top. You absolutely can. But if you feel like your outfit is getting a little busy, try distributing your prints more evenly by doing one on the top and one on the bottom.

4. Break Up The Look With Solids: If print-on-print-on-print is just too much for you, that's fine! Just layer in some solid-colored clothes and accessories to calm things down and ground your look.
